Bébé Nacré · since 2006
A natural protection, handmade in France, designed to support mothers with more comfort — no pressure, at your own pace.

The craft
Each shell is chosen, calibrated, sanded and hand-polished in our French atelier. A patient, repeated gesture in service of a perfectly soft surface.
Nothing processed — simply nacre, in its raw beauty.
Edges carefully rounded, for the gentlest contact.
Artisanal production, in small batches — never mass-made.
Why nacre
A soft barrier that helps protect sensitive nipples between feeds.
Skin stays in contact with a cool, natural material.
A very simple ritual, day after day, at your pace.
Reusable and durable — a zero-waste alternative.

Portrait of the founder
“I watch over the quality of each nacre with care, as if I were looking after a friend’s baby.”
A Beaux-Arts student in Paris, Renata was always drawn to precious objects linked to women’s bodies. When a Danish friend told her of a dormant Scandinavian tradition — shells worn to protect the skin — something resonated.
In 2006, at the birth of her first child, she tried them herself, then prepared pairs for friends. Doctors and midwives encouraged her. Step by step, Bébé Nacré was born — and with it the term “nursing shells,” which she coined.
Twenty years on, she still chooses, sculpts and polishes the nacre by hand, in her atelier, in small batches. A tradition reawakened, passed on to mothers around the world.
